I am a mature, independent and young-in-mind-and-body 57 year old Australian who is now based in the UK on a working holiday. My grandparents were English and my three daughters are all in their twenties busy with study, working and hectic social lives. After a long stint as a single mother, it's time for a middle-aged-adventure.

I have taught secondary school in Hertfordshire and London for the past two years, and would now like a break from teaching to read, research, reflect and write. I am focused on history, culture and art; as well as natural landscapes.

My work life has been varied. As well as being a secondary teacher (English, Drama & EAL), I have been a a Youth Services Officer, worked in the tertiary education sector as a policy and projects manager, directed a music festival and been heavily involved in tourism.

Dogs and cats have featured strongly in my family life, and I am now proud Grandmother to Pilot my grand-dog; and Lil' Foot my grand-cat. Messers Darcy and Wickham live with my sister. I'm pretty good at Doggie-massage; cats tend to pretend they don't like it. I love to go on walks, so any dog-walking is a good thing as far as I'm concerned; plastic bags and all!


I have many strings to my bow, but in terms of house-sitting know that I will look after your place. I am neat, clean and very fussy about using things correctly and safely. If there were to be any unforeseen maintenance issues, I also have loads of experience in dealing with tradespeople, agencies etc. I own my own home in Australia and have renovated a few properties.

I enjoy gardens and am adept at watering, weeding and mowing.
