We would love to come to look after your pets and your home. We are a mature couple, 59 & 63, from New Zealand with no ties who are living in the UK and are available to travel on short notice in the UK. We have successfully completed over 20 house sits since June 2016 all over the south of England and Wales. We have looked after dogs, cats, chickens, fish and even a tortoise. We really love the lifestyle and take our housesitting seriously. If we have dogs we plan our days around fun places to walk them so they often have as good a holiday as we hope their owners are having. If we have cats we can be more adventurous but are always home in the evening and overnight to feed and cuddle them.We have had return visits to several of our house sits. We are fit and healthy non-smokers with our own car who love travelling and walking.
Michael and I retired at the end of April 2016 after 31 years in our own knitwear business in Geraldine, New Zealand and have taken early retirement to allow us to spend several years in the UK soaking up the history and also geocaching in every area we go to.
Geocaching is treasure hunting with a GPS and we are very keen on this having completed over 5500 caches. It gets us out and about and can involve lots of walking in the countryside. We are concentrating mainly on the church micro series at the moment of which there are 11,000 in the UK alone.
We have enjoyed all the house sits as it allows us to combine our interests of geocaching and history into one.
We were invited by the Hastings Borough Council to exhibit our Medieval Mosaic in Hastings for three months from August to the end of October 2016 for the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. Since then we have also had a six-week exhibition in Burford, Oxfordshire and a three-month exhibition in Oxford.
