More information about this house sitter

We are a couple in our mid 50s who have been married for over 28 years. We have no pets or children and do not smoke.

From our work and general life we have a great deal of experience in garden and home maintenance, pool maintenance and cleaning/laundry - your home and pets will be in good hands.

Our most recent paid job was a one year live-in contract in 2019 looking after a large country house and 21 acres of grounds for a retired couple. Responsible for security during their frequent long holidays. Previous to that we spent the summer of 2018 managing a luxury holiday rental villa in St Tropez, living on site and managing all aspects of the day to day running of the house, including care of the resident cat.

We have carried out a number of house sits, from large country properties to small cottages. Our longest house sit was 4 months and our shortest 3 days. Five star reviews for all sits.

Previous work positions have included Sam: 15 years as Accommodation & Conference Manager for Oxford University at Corpus Christi College - living in to be on call for emergencies; HM Diplomatic Service including an overseas posting; Manager of a 125 bed Hostel and a Conference & Wedding booker in a four star hotel. Tre spent his initial working career in electronics, but re-trained and spent 10 years with Thames Valley Police as a Crime Scene Investigator. He is a qualified gardener, as well as being a competent DIYer with courses in carpentry, car maintenance and basic plumbing under his belt.

We are houseproud, clean and tidy non-smokers who enjoy reading, walking, ornithology, ski-ing, food and travel.

We have clean and tidy habits - an estate agent who recently viewed our flat told us it was the cleanest place he had ever viewed.

We are a reliable, trustworthy, mature and sensible couple - happy with our own company. Sam has lots of property management experience, including holiday lets and is used to thinking on her feet and problem solving. First class housekeeping skills. Tre spent 2019 looking after 21 acres of grounds and an indoor pool in Worcestershire; spring/summer of 2018 looking after 3 acres of gardens, fruit trees and wild meadows and an outdoor pool near St Tropez in France and worked for 5 years in the gardens of one of the Oxford Colleges. He is used to utilising and maintaining garden machinery, including large ride on mowers and is also able to carry out repairs around the house.

We have both lived abroad - recently in St Tropez and Sam has lived in Switzerland and Tre in Germany.

Sam's job at Oxford University entailed her living in for 14 years and references are available which confirm the excellent condition and respectful treatment of these properties during our tenure.

We would love to own a dog or cat, but as we move around so much and travel ourselves - it seems fairer to get our 'pet love' from looking after other people's pets. So, rest assured that your pets will receive lots of love and attention should we be looking after them for you. We have looked after both indoor and outdoor cats and dogs that must be kept on the lead, as well as those that can run around at their leisure.

Sam speaks some French and has her DBS Police certificate. We have liability insurance.
