Hello, we are Deb and Nick. We are ID verified and DBS checked with clear results.

We're a reliable and trustworthy animal-loving couple looking to provide an excellent pet and home care service while exploring new locations in the UK. We can offer you a genuinely excellent service. We can:

* take care of your pets and see to all of their needs including feeding, walking, veterinary visits (if required), playing and spending time with them
* send you regular images and updates of your pets and home, if you wish
* take care of the day to day running of your house including minor/major emergencies
* maintain a clean, orderly house and garden
* see to specific or particular chores as requested by you
* communicate regularly with you while you are away, if you wish

We understand that entrusting your pets, home and possessions to someone new can be daunting. Please read on to learn more about us and why we are well placed to care for your pets and home while you are away.

We are happy, healthy and youthful late fifty-somethings who decided to change our lives in quite a dramatic way: we left our beautiful house and jobs (Nick a Civil Servant specialising in statistics and Deb a teacher and Senior Leader in a large primary school) and bought a sailing boat so we could travel and spend more quality time together.

We now spend much of the year on our 38ft sailing catamaran, travelling to new places and meeting new faces including those of the furry kind, which we particularly like.

We think pets make a house a home. Both of us grew up with animals in our families and so, to us, it is natural to have pets around as they bring so much joy. Through friends and family we know so many animals: small, large, energetic, lazy, boisterous, nervous, moody, attention seeking and everything in between. We respect that all animals need to be treated in a way that is right for them. Should you choose us to look after your pet(s) we would very much like to know everything about them, including all of their foibles, so they remain happy while you're away.

Currently, we have a dog and a cat of our own. Our dog, Roxy, is eight years old. She does not approve of our current lifestyle and very much prefers land to water so she is currently living with Nick's parents where she is being spoiled rotten. When we are home, we enjoy walking her on the nearby beaches or the South Downs. We particularly like taking her to the Lake District where dogs are, quite rightly, very welcomed everywhere you go.

Five years ago we felt we could offer a home to another pet so we adopted a rescue cat who we named Badger Boy. At 4 years old he was a rather grumpy boy and put Roxy in her place on many occasions. He definitely would not like the sailing life so he is currently living his very best life with Deb's cousin in Birmingham.

We love being outdoors and, wherever we are berthed or anchored, walk or hike most days. Our dream house sit would be one where there are easily accessible walks (we also don't mind catching a bus or train if it leads to somewhere nice): we are equally happy in urban, rural or coastal areas. And, of course, walks with dogs are the best.

Even though our pets aren't with us while we're sailing, we miss them a lot. Fortunately for us, many sailors have animals onboard so we get lots of opportunities to befriend new pets. We also get regular updates and photos from our family. This is something we would be more than happy to do for you should you choose us to care for your animals while you are away.

We are enjoying our new lifestyle very much. Living on a sailboat brings us many challenges. When we're onboard, the boat needs attention on a daily basis. We have electronic, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems as well as sails, decks, rigging and interiors all of which need constant maintenance, repair, upgrading or simply just cleaning and organising.

At home, and on the boat, we both have a hands on approach. Nick is particularly practically minded and is well respected among our friends and family for his knowledge and skills which have enabled us to refit and maintain the boat to a high standard.
Deb is a keen organiser and 'doer upper' and enjoys keeping everything ship shape, as it were! We are well able to cope with emergencies without making a drama.

So far, we have looked after friends and family's houses and pets but we now feel we can extend to more formal house sitting arrangements, particularly as we have a very flexible lifestyle.

If we had to write a mission statement, it would be that we want you to leave home safe in the knowledge that everything will be taken care of as if it were our own and that you'll be welcomed back home by happy and healthy pets.

All of our photographs are current and show our pets at our home. We would, of course, be able to share more pictures with you if required.
