Hi there. We are Shannon (28) and Mark (29) an Australian couple who have just moved to the UK from Melbourne. Shannon is a Paediatric Nurse and has worked at The Royal Children's Hospital for the last 7 years. Mark has been working in warehousing and doing volunteering for the past few years and has tertiary qualifications in International Business and Development (aid work). We both love travelling, music, books, food, nature, animals, and sports.

We don’t have any specific preference for the type of house sitting we want to do, however we do love animals, and are really excited by the idea of getting to look after someone’s pets while we get to know the UK a bit more. We love seeing new places so we would be equally happy in a small village as we would in a big city.

We recently arrived in the UK on 2 year working holiday visas. As we don’t have any firm plans locked in yet, we feel that house sitting would allow us to relax, travel a bit slower, and see more of beautiful Britain while decide what we would like to do, and where we might like to live during our time here.


We also desperately miss our furry friends back home in Australia who have gone to live on our parents farms. So we are looking to fill the dog and cat shaped holes in our hearts. Our sweet ginger cat, Nala, is 4 years old and she loves a good scratch and a lap to sit on of a night, and our 8 year old Jack Russell Lenny is a lovely, but at times moody old boy.

We think it would be great to combine our love of animals and delight at seeing new places.

We both grew up on farms, so we understand the responsibility of caring for both pets and farm animals. Between us we’ve owned, looked after and hand reared, dogs, cats, pigs, cows, sheep, guinea pigs, rabbits, kangaroos, emus, chickens, pheasants, peacocks, and all manner of aviary birds. In fact, this is the first time in our lives that we are not living with animals.

We are mature, reliable and responsible people. Being young and fit we are also happy to get our hands dirty if there is any gardening or maintenance that needs doing. Read more...
