Hello, I am Phil.

I have taken care of pets and houses on and off for many years, for friends and family initially and then through websites like this for over a year now. I have looked after all sorts of pets (frogs, fish, rabbits, chickens, etc.) but mostly dogs and cats. I have looked after big dogs, small dogs, lazy dogs, athletic dogs, young dogs, old dogs, well-behaved dogs, naughty dogs, clever dogs and the intellectually challenged. I have shared houses with lots of cats and looked after them from time-to-time too. I like animals in general and enjoy walking and hiking, especially with a dog for company.

I am reliable, responsible, mature, sensible and care about animals and their welfare.

I work freelance as an editor/writer/proofreader after a career in academia/research. I recently returned to the UK after working in the USA and then house-sitting for a friend in Mexico. I was planning on leaving the UK in early December for the winter, but all travel plans are now on hold until the summer. That means that I have quite a bit of flexibility for home/pet-sitting - all I need is occasional access to a reasonable WiFi connection. I do not have a car at present, so I need reasonable access to a local shop (I don't mind walking or getting the bus).
