More information about this house sitter

We are two animal lovers, who are used to looking after all sorts of animals and have rescue cats and rabbits of our own. Both of us grew up with dogs, hamsters, mice, gerbils, budgies, goldfish and had close contact with donkeys, horses and goats additionally. We are likely to take up our appointments individually (to make sure our own animals are covered.) Derek drives and is also very practical. Heidi is a writer and animal welfare campaigner. We both love nature, walking and animal company. We are both good with sick animals. Neither of us minds isolation.

I can vouch for both Heidi Stephenson and Derek Finch. They have both looked after my pets several times and are tremendous animal lovers, putting the care and love of the animals first. My dog was nervous about being left with other people, but she was so well looked after by each of them that she always goes crazy with excitement when she sees them to this day! Nothing was too much trouble and as well as looking after the pets supremely well, they also took great care of my home. I would not hesitate to have them as house sitters again.

We have known both Heidi Stephenson and Derek Finch for at least twelve years and in that time know them to be, and to be seen by others, as kind, intelligent, responsible and gentle people.

Heidi’s reputation with animal welfare work is that she is devoted to her cause, and that her work is outstanding. It was through her that we first came across our own dog, a Staffie called Milo, whom we ‘rescued’.

After two years, and when Milo was well established in our family, we took a family holiday abroad for just over a week, and engaged Heidi to stay in our house (at that time, Derek had animal care duties at home). All the time that we were away, whenever we thought of our beloved dog, we were reassured that he had the best sitter available; and that we had someone so reliable to house-sit.

We can both honestly say that Milo was given the best care regarding all of his needs, his comfort and happiness. Heidi also took care to make sure he behaved well in public, had great walks, and was safe outdoors. Our neighbours were pleased to meet Milo with his carer and praised Heidi to us on our return. Milo adored her, and still does. All in all, she excelled as a dog-minder.

We cannot think of any individuals to recommend more highly than both Heidi and Derek, to care for your animals.

"Heidi came to house and cat sit for us at very short notice when our regular sitter became ill. She was a godsend in so many ways.

She is an extremely calm, resourceful caring and competent person and she took care of everything extremely well. She gave our elderly cat 24 hour loving care and attention …and even Reiki treatment! We came home to an extremely chilled and happy little moggy (the only downside is that she now expects an altogether higher standard of care and therapy than previously!!!)

Heidi is an animal person, in tune with all creatures and will make sure all and any animals in your home and garden are protected and loved.

She was also a hit with our friends and neighbours who all said what a nice person she was!

It is seriously worth considering going away, just for the experience of having a touch of Heidi in your home!!
