I live in a small village near Newtown, not far from the Shropshire border, with beautiful Welsh hills all around. My home is a small bungalow that backs onto a grazing field. It has a driveway where you can park. The location is quiet and the neighbours are all kind and friendly. Mid Wales is farming country but the scenery is gorgeous. One hour's drive west and you're at one of Wales' most spectacular stretches of coast. The river Severn runs through Newtown, 4 miles away, and there are lovely walks along it's banks. The Severn's source is not far away and I hear that is a good walk too. There are 2 pubs in the village, one serves very good food. Newtown has a Tesco, Morrisons and Lidl, plus small local shops, cafes and businesses.
I have 2 elderly cats, both neutered, male and female. Teeny (tabby) is very laid back while Dex (white) is very nervous of new people but usually comes around with patience, quiet and food! They have no health issues and sleep a great deal. They spend more time indoors than out and are very fond of sleeping on the bed with me, sometimes under the covers. They will expect you to be as welcoming, I'm afraid!
I think this is a lovely area for you to spend a week or two of relaxation and quiet and the cats are very little trouble. My property is rented so I'm sorry I cannot allow other animals to come and stay, as that breaks my contract. Dex would not like it either! Read more...
