House sitting can be a great lifestyle choice but can be difficult at times if you have no other fixed abode
If you are currently finding it frustrating to constantly look for the next place and this is your position, what I offer may suit you.

Someone has asked me why I want a long house sit. I don’t NEED it but it can suit both sides. It gives you a base to return to in between your other adventures and so suits someone who hasn’t got their own home. And for me, I like the flexibility to disappear on a whim if I have animal cover. A few days in Devon or France. And I babysit my grandchildren but can’t take my dog with me so I prefer her to have company. No major planning involved if someone is here more than not.
Renting is expensive. Especially near Oxford This is free accommodation with very few hassles

I have a canal side property on a couple of acres and have a new shepherds hut on it that will give you your own private space but you have access to the house facilities.

I am around erratically but have animals and this ties me down.. for most of the time, you will have no duties at all. Just a base. But i do go away when I can. Most of the time I take my dog with me but leave the cat and poultry behind If I go abroad, the dog now stays as the ferry doesn’t suit her

Essentially, I am looking for someone flexible and respectful to share my space when I am around and who can assume responsibility for animal welfare and security when I am away

I can work around many of your dates if you want to vary your life and do other house sits We can agree dates when you must be here and you can go away if you wish at other times or alternatively stay here Great for a writer.

I can also contemplate someone with a camper van who needs somewhere to park for a few months.

I don’t have many fixed dates yet but will be trying to tie down my diary. My first real date is 6-15 feb.

Ideally I would like someone to stay on for some months for the stability aspect but of course things change for people. You aren’t committed to staying on for months obviously. But it is an option if you need a base and a respite from constantly moving on.

I have BT WiFi at the house and also pay for a 3 mobile modem which I can move around and this can support 8 devices Internet should not be a problem.

The wagon has a wood burning stove and I can supply the wood at no cost to you. It also has access to some electricity from the house for low level background heating and there is also solar power lighting. Read more...
