About this house sitting position in Witham

You will be looking after a lovely Grade II listed farmhouse along with 2 ponies, 3 dogs, 3 cats and chickens so experience with animals essential.

The ponies will brushing and rugs checked. The dogs will require walking around our land and the cats cuddling.

Emma and Tim were very welcoming and we had a lovely meal the night I arrived. Emma had written really good descriptions of the animals and how to look after them so all I had to do was walk round with the instructions. Everything is well organised. This sit is fine if you don’t have a car because although it feels rural there is a bus stop outside. I recommend it all!

House sitting for Emma and Tim was a wonderful experience. It was a privilege to stay in their historic homestead in such a beautiful setting. It really is a stunning place, and one of the highlights of our visit to the UK. The two dogs left for us to care for were a delight - so well mannered and great companions for the duration of our stay. The cats were real characters too, often joining us on our morning and evening walks of the property. We enjoyed grooming and caring for the horses, and appreciated the fresh farm eggs from the chickens. Emma and Tim were extremely warm and generous in their hospitality, and communication was great both before and during our stay. Emma left a very helpful set of instructions and information. We were car-less but managed well with the bus service into Witham (there is a bus stop at the end of the driveway) and walking to the local Silver End supermarket for provisions.
