About this house sitting position in Bridgnorth

Introduction

This is an historic family estate on the South Shropshire/ South Staffordshire borders. The estate has been in the family since the 1650s. We are currently restoring the old stable court. We are looking for a sitter/sitters that are happy looking after an old large (but comfortable) house and various animals including horses, which will include feeding and checking twice a day. It does not take long. We have a rider that comes once a day so if you feel unsure about an issue with a horse you can discuss this with her and ask for her help. You will need to have some previous experience of looking after horses. For the two weeks mentioned we will be taking the dogs with us on this holiday which means that you will have the whole day between feeding am and pm to explore our local towns and countryside. For someone interested in wild life, the walks straight from the house are amazing. There is a huge amount of wilderness as we are encouraging, birds, bees, insects and as much diversity of wild life possible. We have a cleaner that comes every week so you will only need to clean up after yourselves. Due to the variety of animals, we cannot accept sitters own pets. Strictly non smokers please. We are happy to do a video call if anyone would like further information and we will leave full lists of instructions and phone numbers for all queries. Unfortunately we cannot accept any visiting guests to our house during a sit.

Home & location

Our house is a large country house in a rural location with good road access. Our closest town is the historic town of Bridgnorth, Shropshire which is 5 miles away. Our postal address is in South Staffordshire. It is an hour to Birmingham and Worcester. Half an hour to the M5. We have a cat, two dogs, a hen and, horses which live out. We have 2 turtles in the house. The garden is large and may need watering in the summer, including the greenhouse. This should not be too taxing as we have sprinklers that can be set up and just turned on at the tap. There are miles of walks straight from the house and our local towns have a lot of historical interest. Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, Shrewsbury to name a few. The West Midlands Safari Park in 1/2 hour away. We are happy to have a family with children but due to the contents in the house it is not suitable for young children. We have a cleaner who comes in three mornings a week so no one would be expected to clean the whole house. We would like any sitters to enjoy the house and countryside and get a chance to visit our local sites. Strictly non smokers
