About this house sitting position in Finsbury Park
Hi there,
We're Lydia and James, a London-based couple who own two cats who are our babies; Misty (8) & Suki (3).
We've got a bit of a unique situation, we currently live in a 1 bed flat in a great part of London (Stroud Green, Finsbury Park) but are shortly moving to our first home - a 3 bedroom flat with private garden in the sought-after St James' Street area of Walthamstow. We're looking for a sitter who would love to spend 3 weeks in London over Christmas and New Year (18th December - 8th January), but can be flexible on the location as we're unsure of our move date. Must be great with cats, we have two very cuddly girls who love affection.
Stroud Green is a bustling area with plenty of food and drink options, alongside a theatre and cinema, and we're very conveniently located for the overground and it's just at the end of our road. We're also a 15 minute walk to Finsbury Park Station, with rapid connections into central London via the Victoria line. For green spaces we're also spoilt, we have Finsbury Park itself, the parkland walk which is a disused railway line leading up to Highgate, and Hampstead Heath is a few stops on the overground. The flat itself is a 1 bed - there's a bedroom with a double bed, desk and wardrobes, a small kitchen, small bathroom and good sized lounge with two sofas, TV and computer. This is a ground floor flat with a shared entrance with the neighbours, and shared garden.
Walthamstow is a thriving area with a great food and drinks scene, breweries and a theatre, and it's both surrounded by wetlands and a forest whilst being very well connected to the city. You can get to Soho in 25 minutes on the Victoria line, or travel around east and North London via the multiple overground options.
Accessibility wise, the flat has it's own entrance and a flight of stairs which leads up into it. There's a steep set of stairs leading down to the garden at the back. We'll have 3 bedrooms in the new flat, but likely only have the double bed set up in one room - we may not have got around to furnishing the other two small bedrooms.
We haven't yet moved in, we're waiting on a date for completion, but need reassurance that we've got someone kind who is willing to look after our cats, and hope it could be a great opportunity for someone wanting to spend Christmas and New Years in London.
Misty (our older cat) has Stage 1 Kidney Disease, so is on a specific diet and can't have the same food as Suki. We've got microchip feeders to manage this.
We may be able to arrange a few days cover if you can't do the full duration.
