About this house sitting position in Fraserburgh
We are a small scale smallholding, in a rural area, lots of countryside, but only a mile walk or drive to the nearest local village.
Our small holding includes a beautiful characterful old stone farm cottage, a large back, front and side garden. There is a large tarmac yard area with a small trust stall where we sell our produce, the 'egg shed', where all the egg incubation and hatching occurs and a store where we keep animal feed etc. We also have a an vegetable patch, polytunnel and various fruit bushes around the garden. We have an over an acre field which is seperated into smaller paddocks to accomodate our various livestock and poultry, whilst still giving a good area for the dogs to run free and where we have planted a fruit tree orchard for you future years.
The cottage has mutli-fuel stove/burner in the living room and oil heating for the entire house and hot water. We also have WIFI of a good speed and are on mains electric and private water supply. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, which has the best rainfall shower, a kitchen, living room, a pantry and a craft/office room. You will stay in one of the upstairsbedrooms, which has the most amazing views. Wild deer, birds of prey and foxes etc have been seen as part of this view. There are so many different wild birds, geese, SkyLarks, woodpeckers, owls, kestrels, buzzards etc. so a bird lovers paradise. There are also RSPB sites very nearby.
The village includes a post office/Morrisons Daily and there is another grocer shop, Whytes of New Pitsligo, which sells locally sourced produce, a pub, Royal British Legion, Chinese takeaway, indian restaurant and takeaway, fish and chip shop, florists, village hall, library, 2 churches, antique shop, stationary and craft shop, doctors surgery and several car garages. There are many beautiful beaches close by, each one offering something different, from sand, rocks, to pebbles and lighthouses, harbours and of course the nothern lights if your lucky. Pennan bay is a must if you have watched the film, 'local hero'.
The nearest large town is Fraserburgh and then Peterhead. Fraserburgh is also a fishing port, has a beautiful long sandy beach with beach cafe, surf school, Leisure centre, fitness centre, a lighthouse, lighthouse museum and of course all the usual high street shops and supermarkets include- ASDA, Tesco, Lidl and Home Bargains & McDonalds drive through and restaurant. There are a choice of pubs, takeaways and banks etc. If you like castles and history there are over 10 castles in the immediate area and some of these include beautiful country parks.
There is a a huge country park 8 miles away, with wooded areas, open space, dog agility area, dog fenced area if you need it, river, gift shop and museum. Read more...
