About this house sitting position in Manchester

Our home is a 4 bedroomed 2 bathroom semi-detached house with a good-sized garden in a quiet and friendly cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Chorlton-cum-Hardy, about 3 miles from Manchester city centre. The house has very good wifi and TV.

This is a good base for exploring with easy access to public transport - buses and metro - so a car is not needed. There is a convenience store, pharmacy and cafe just 2 minutes walk. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool 5 minutes' walk away across open fields. A wealth of shopping, eating and drinking options are available nearby in Chorlton and West Didsbury.

We have one cat, Treacle, who is very independent but likes to have people around. She is unlikely to sit in your lap but she will be nearby. She is 17 and beginning to show her age - she hasn't caught any birds/mice for a few years. Thank goodness.

Our requirement is for you to take care of Treacle which involves feeding twice a day. She does have a litter tray but generally goes outside. Depending on the time of year and the length of stay then watering the very few house plants we have/patio might be needed. Other than that just keeping the house tidy as you would do in your own home.

My husband is a smoker but only smokes in one room - with the door closed! If any sitters were smokers we would expect the same from them. I am a non-smoker and we keep the rest of the house smoke-free.

I am sorry that we cannot accept pets as part of the stay. Treacle is not used to having other animals in the house. Read more...
