About this house sitting position in Stafford

We are Kate & Lindon Horton and live with our young adult son and daughter in a 3-bedroom detached house in Derrington, a small village 3 miles west of the county town of Stafford. The property has a medium rear garden with 2 patio areas and a front drive with parking for one vehicle. There is one bathroom and a downstairs toilet. We are looking for sitters, preferably a couple (see below).

Derrington has a village hall with licensed bar serving the local community and visitors 6 evenings a week. The Derrington Millennium Green borders the village; the 13-acre community owned site consists of wildflower meadows, orchards, pond and woodland. This is in addition to the nearby 23-acre woodland – Duddas Wood, with access to Stafford Castle. The old railway track is now known as the national cycle route 55, running between the green and Derrington, takes you west to Stafford, or east to visit nearby villages Haughton and Gnosall which offer several pubs and further still the Shropshire Union canal. (Pictures show areas of the Millennium Green).

Derrington is well placed (3m radius) for supermarkets, railway station, other local transport and golf course.

Our pets are 2 lively Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers named Ted and Wilma. Ted is nearly 8 years old, a 20kg male. Wilma is Ted’s niece and is nearly 5yo, 17kg. They are used to 2 walks of 20 minutes per day around Derrington – they’ll need to be walked separately which is why we think sitters that are a couple would be preferable.

Other local attractions are –
