About this house sitting position in Winchester

We can offer the right person use of a detached house with 1/3 acre garden, 20 minutes’ walk from the centre of the beautiful, historic city of Winchester with its plentiful shops, supermarkets, cafés, cathedral, cinema, pubs etc.. The house is also only a couple of miles from beautiful countryside walks and an excellent farm shop and café. There is a train station in Winchester with links to London and the south coast, but it would be useful to have a car to reach the countryside walks which surround us and, if desired, the New Forest and south coast which are an hour or so away.
In return, we will provide a double room with ensuite, as well as desk space for home working and a comfortable home with kitchen/dining room, sitting room, garden room and off-street parking. We currently rent one room to a friend who uses it to treat her osteopathic clients so she will also be around occasionally during the day (she will let you know in advance when she is coming).
I need someone to feed our two aging, chilled tabby cats (Cato 13 and Jerry 15, both male and neutered) and our incredibly friendly 9.5-year old Cocker Spaniel Mimi (female, neutered). The cats are fed in the mornings (they have a cat flap so come and go) and Mimi is fed twice a day and has two 30-minute walks, or one longer walk daily, ideally on soft ground (not gravel). She needs care taking of the pads on her front paws which can otherwise get sore due to a pad overgrowth – gentle washing and ointment needs to be applied after walking. Mimi can be left for up to four hours but is used to and likes company. She travels well in the car so can come with you on outings if appropriate. Some watering of plants inside the house is required, and in the garden too during the hotter months please.
We are looking for someone kind, honest, reliable and caring who can look after our lovely home and animals for three weeks in July/August while we are on holiday.
