More information about this house sitter
Hello,
My name is Bridget and I am a retired children's nurse.
I have been house sitting on and off for around 15 years. I have often taken on one sit a year, but usually its been more than that. I really enjoy meeting new people and exploring new places, and would like to take this up again more frequently again.
I had two lovely cats of my own until they sadly died a few year ago, and I love having animals around.
I have looked after cats of many different temperaments over the last few years, and have dealt will both illness and disability.
I started to look after dogs about 4 years ago, and regularly spend time with two lovely Westies in Wales. We had dogs when I was growing up ( a Heinz 99, a spaniel and a sheepdog), but nursing and shift work have meant I haven't had a dog at home myself. I used to regularly look after a labrador when I worked as a nurse on the community, and have recently looked after a Dutch breed of sheepdog.
I have also had lodgers living in my own home at times and understand the anxieties when someone new moves in ! However, I am very clean, tidy and respectful and look after homes as well, if not better, than I do my own.
I have dealt with a few challenges during the time I have been house sitting, including a broken boiler in the middle if winter, faulty keys, a new brood of chicks ( very sweet, but worrisome at the time !), and I believe my experience as an intensive care nurse means that I work calmly in a 'crisis'.
I also enjoy gardening and so would be happy t look after yours whilst you are away.
I would love to meet, and can supply written references.
with kind regards,
Bridget Read more...
