Hello! It is nice to meet you. My name is Marlie, I'm in my early 40's and looking to house and pet-sit while I am completing my PhD in Art History remotely during the writing stages of my thesis.

I have been a Yoga and Meditation Teacher for the past thirteen years, and recently completed my Massage Therapist training which I have really enjoyed. I previously taught university as my main profession for sixteen years.

I have house-sitting experience, and my love for animals has been with me my whole life; from riding and caring for horses and ponies to having my own cats and rabbits in my youth, to pet sitting many cats and dogs such as Collies and Golden Retrievers, to more recently Pomeranians and Wire Fox Terriers, whom I absolutely adore! My heart is full when I can play with animals, show them affection, take dogs for walks, and am mindful to keep them to their routine and their own space and needs.

I've travelled globally and lived in both urban and rural, remote places such as Cortes Island on the wilderness coast in British Columbia, and Wolfe Island in Ontario, Canada (both only accessible by ferry). I've also volunteered, lived and worked at health retreat centres, looking after the buildings and grounds, tending to the garden, providing customer service, cleaning, working in the kitchen, and living in a community. I love being in nature and am happy to help with gardening work at your home if needed. I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, quiet bookworm, UK citizen.

That is me in a nutshell, happy to share more with you - my schedule is free and flexible and I am available over the coming months. I'm interested in longer house-sits, but am open to other short-term opportunities as well. Read more...
