Short, Fat and Welsh :

Grandmother, non-smoker, with extra-wide lap suitable for most furry creatures (non-furries may also apply!)

After more than twenty years in horticulture (garden centre manager & college tutor) I was forced to retire after cancer but now getting back out there and attempting to write interesting stuff about folklore and industrial and social history.

Overall responsibility for pet department within the garden centre, Personally, kept cats dogs chickens ducks rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats and pond fish.... also OK with bees and goats.

Not going to be able to walk bouncy dogs for miles but fine with a kilometre or so ... I need the exercise!
Good with senior/timid /rescue animals, can give medications, diabetic jabs, change dressings etc.. Knowledge of canine and feline dementia.

I am older and slower but much to offer anyone wishing to have a sensible & trustworthy person looking after their home and pets whilst they are away. I'm a gal that possesses good common sense, I'm level-headed & practical.

My interests are cooking, archaeology, art, cycling, blues music, sewing, giving tummy rubs, swimming and chatting to cats...

My family reside in different areas of the UK , so I enjoy house sitting in order to see them and love to visit new places for inspiration and discovery.

I have an extensive plant knowledge; including orchids, fruit, permaculture, cacti, bonsai, etc. Perhaps you have a property with no pets but need a, polytunnel, tropical house, herb garden or house plant collection taken care of in your absence? I can live off-grid, check solar panels, light wood burners, maintain compost toilets and kick temperamental generators.

Does your hedgehog need feeding? The bird table replenished? Do you have a gerbil with attitude, a quirky chinchilla or perhaps your cat used to be an Egyptian Deity in a previous life and still expects to be treated like one ... ?

I can sometimes sit at very short notice in an emergency, and take on sits of longer duration.

Would love to look after your home and keep your pets company sometime soon.
