Hello,
I am an active 67 yo semi-retired academic/scientist from Australia visiting my daughter in London from mid May 2023 for about 6 months. House-sitting combines my love of dogs and cats with the opportunity to experience a bit of day-to-day UK life while not being a tourist. It also gives me breathing space to catch up on reading, technical writing, and music creation projects.
I envisage spending time taking your dog(s) for walks as long and as often as required. And of course, feeding and stroking your cat if necessary. Having owned various terriers over the years (Jack Russell, Foxies) and a domestic short haired cat, I know that being away from them even for a short time can be stressful. You can have peace of mind that they will be in capable hands.
I’m seeking places anywhere in the greater London area or up to 2 hours by train from London for longer stays (5 days or more). Something within reasonable walking distance, or access via public transport, for grocery shops cafés etc would be ideal as I have no car (but do have a valid drivers license and a current police clearance).
As far as your house or flat is concerned, you will hardly notice I was there. I can even do some gardening and simple repairs and maintenance if necessary. Read more...
