Our names are Sean and Katharine. We’re a digital nomad couple who’ve been slow traveling since May 2012 and housesitting full-time since May 2013. As housesitters, we’ve cared for a wide variety of houses and 220+ dogs, cats, chickens, and so on. Sean’s a Massachusetts native with dual US-UK citizenship, while Katharine’s half-Scottish and half-Greek.

We’re a conscientious, creative and hardworking couple who will love your animals and take excellent care of your home. If you have dogs, we will ensure they get lots of walks and exercise, including, and depending on the dog, chasing sticks and balls, catching frisbees, and swimming if there’s a nearby river or sea. If you have cats, we’ll take our cue from them, snuggling them on our laps or giving them the space they need. If you have chickens, we’ll happily collect their eggs every day and clean out the hen house regularly.

As well as caring for your animals, we can drive your car if you’d like it to be driven and look after your swimming pool if you have one.

We’re always careful and considerate of the homes we look after, aware that we’re living in another person’s space, and will ensure it’s clean and tidy for your return. Prior to our current nomadic life, we lived in a beautifully restored 17th-century maisonette in Lewes, England which we kept immaculate — and we bring that same level of care to each and every house we look after.

As we work online, we naturally spend a lot of time at home, which is ideal for your animals, as well as being a security presence for your house. When we need some downtime from working on our business, we enjoy exploring our surroundings and getting to know the area as well as possible. We treasure the experience of living like locals and having the opportunity to explore the nooks and crannies of wherever we happen to be.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
With 10+ years of full-time housesitting experience, we've learned the importance of being clear about our own requirements for a housesit. Besides a good internet connection, our most important prerequisite is whether a house is truly clean (we've learned not to take this for granted). It's important, therefore, that we be given confirmation that the kitchen and bathroom are truly clean, including the interior of appliances. As housesitters we're always considerate of the fact that we're living in another person's home, taking great care of each house, as well as happily giving all animals in our care an abundance of love and attention. In return, we expect a comparable level of respect and consideration for us as housesitters. Therefore, if you're a homeowner whose main motivation is to find free pet care rather than to form a mutually respectful, professional relationship that offers benefit to both parties, we're probably not a good fit for you.
