Hello, my name is Cristina. Together with my husband, Cristi, and our small dog, Jack, we have spent the past seven-plus years undertaking long-term house sits.

Our journey began in 2018 while we were living in London. High rents, unreasonable landlords, and an increasingly crowded commute prompted us to seek a change in lifestyle. Through this website, we were invited to care for a 40-acre property in beautiful Yorkshire, a few miles east of York. What was initially intended to be a short house sit evolved into a full-time role for Cristi and a part-time role for me, managing a large private estate.

After three and a half years, we wanted to travel through Europe for several months, which we did for five months. Upon returning to the UK in September 2022, we completed two short house sits (see reviews below) and were then invited to care for a 20-acre estate in North Wiltshire—originally described as “up to 3 months or 3 years.” We are still here after 3.5 years, but this sit will conclude in March, so we are now seeking our next adventure.

Ideally, we are looking for house-sitting opportunities where our well-behaved small dog would be welcome and where resident pets are non-aggressive, as Jack can be a little anxious.

In terms of skills and qualifications, I work with schools and universities in various capacities, including as a teacher, tutor, invigilator, and SEN specialist. In recent years, I have also developed management skills and gained extensive hands-on experience in organic gardening. I am now RHS trained and currently maintain a portfolio of regular gardening clients whom I visit on an ongoing basis. Cristi is an experienced estate manager with excellent DIY and carpentry skills and is one of the neatest furniture builders and fitters I know. Between us, we offer a strong combination of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise.

We are non-smokers and take great pride in keeping the homes we live in clean, organised, and well maintained. Cristi is particularly skilled in household tasks such as painting, repairs, and building or adjusting furniture—so you can be assured there will be no wonky cupboard doors upon your return. More importantly, you can have complete peace of mind while we are caring for your home, as we are reliable, responsible, and attentive.

We both love animals. I have lived with dogs and cats since the age of five and am very fond of animals in general. Cristi has experience caring for horses from his time in the army, and from 2018 to 2024 we cared for chickens on a daily basis.
