Hi everyone!
I'm Rose, 37, avid reader, environmentalist, baker and traveller.

A bit about me :

I was born in London but grew up in Indonesia until my teenage years when I moved to Devon - then left the UK in my 20s and spent some years travelling, but now back again!

As a job, I'm a jewellery designer and have my own business where we create pieces out of metals repurposed from electronics - but am also starting work as an environmental geoscientist, where I look at cleanups of contaminated land from industry and mining.

I've always grown up around animals, from being in Indonesia with - ducks, cats, dogs, hamsters, pigeons, terrapin - and also dealt with things like spiders, scorpions and snakes from living in the Indonesian rainforest - so it's rare a creature will faze me. In my adult life I've worked with livestock (mainly sheep and cows but also some goats) and in Australia worked on a farm where I managed things when the owners were gone (which at one point included looking after 10 dogs!).
I've done animal care, from looking after a horse who'd ripped his nose open getting into a food bin to fostering a small dog after she got hit by a motorbike which broke her front paw - and I'm happy to say she now lives with her pack of 5 dog friends and goes to the beach every day!

I'm a home owner myself so handy on the basics if needed (light bulbs, fuses ect ect) and loved my garden so always happy to do some watering or look after houseplants, and am respectful of people's homes being their safe space. Over the years I've housesat around a dozen times for friends of the family, from a few days to several months, and have loved it.

I'm currently back in Devon where I help my father out, but am starting a new contract where I work from home 90% of the time, with a day in Cardiff once a fortnight.

I love animals and miss having them around me - and I love travelling, but won't get much chance to do that because of work. As the role I'll be doing involved WFH, I'm hoping I can combine some exploring the UK alongside animal cuddle time whilst helping someone out! All I need is a good Internet connection to do my work, but otherwise I'm easygoing.
