We are Elizabeth and Steve, a pet-loving couple who want you to enjoy your travels knowing that your home, pets, and garden are loved and cared for by us.

We are in our early 60's, both retired from long careers in academia. Elizabeth was a university librarian and library administrator and Steve was the head of the physics department at James Madison University in Virginia. We do not smoke, and even though we are fit and young at heart, we are too old to get into trouble! We love animals and having owned six pets over 33-plus years, we know how important it is to trust someone completely with our furry families. We are very responsible, conscientious, and tidy and will value your home and your pets as our own.

Our job is to ensure that you can travel without worry or stress, knowing that your animals are loved and your home and garden are safe and cared for. We will be devoted to the care of your pets and home.

Over the years, three of our cats required extensive medical treatment. We are highly experienced with administering oral medications, subcutaneous fluids, and giving insulin injections.

We are extremely neat and clean and will leave your home in wonderful condition and your pets cosseted and loved. We owned a cranky Victorian home in Virginia and are comfortable taking care of routine problems that pop up in homes. Elizabeth is a gardener, and Steve is pretty handy with ordinary maintenance and repair.

We have been fortunate to travel extensively and are completely comfortable figuring out how to get things done in an unfamiliar environment. We both supervised large departments, and we are decisive problem solvers -- if something needs attention, we will not stand around wringing our hands.

Although we love to travel, we will not neglect your pets. We love hanging out and cuddling critters. We are very comfortable and confident with medium-sized and small dogs, cats, most pocket pets, and chickens. We are also happy to discuss large, well-trained dogs, but we are not the best choice for powerful rambunctious pups.
