More information about this house sitter

i am a creative person through and through. i write in small caps in homage to my favourite poet: e.e. cummings. i read about three novels a week - literary fiction - plus the new yorker. started out as a painter, but meandered over to graphic design and architecture where i found my niche.

my first freelance client in new york was the restaurant division of american express, so my focus became graphics for new openings, then restaurant interiors, plus, of course, great food. i never went hungry! i also began taking cooking classes in asian cuisines, and trawled through markets for special ingredients at the weekends.

moved to london in 1985 and spent the first year travelling to spectacular places: fiji, africa, singapore, borneo, belieze, thailand....... then i settled down to work.

in 1995 i decided to start an ethnic cooking school, with other mums at hill house, my daughter's international school. this unexpectedly became a business, running classes, consults and workshops for all the major players in the uk food industry: m&s, sainsbury's, waitrose, northern foods, amoy, green & blacks etc. very hard work but a lot of fun.

i now want to travel more again, work on personal art projects, and write. house sitting will give me the chance to see new places, which always sparks my wild imagination, and write in peace.
