More information about this house sitter

Hello, I’m Sandra — a mature, reliable and highly experienced house and pet sitter with a genuine love of animals and more than 20 years of professional household, property and pet care experience.

I have recently retired after working as a property guardian, house sitter, pet sitter, executive housekeeper, and animal carer across the UK, Australia, and rural Wales. My background includes caring for luxury homes, rural estates, holiday cottages, and architect-designed eco properties. I bring the same level of care, calmness and attention to detail into any and every home I look after.

I have a diploma in animal care and extensive hands-on experience with cats and dogs of all types (including senior dogs, working dogs, and nervous or special-care pets) having worked with and also owned my own pets. I have volunteer experience with the Animal Welfare League of Australia and have also owned a small holding with goats, pigs, a pony, rabbits and chickens and the occasional rodent (rats, Guinea pigs and hamsters). I understand routines, medication, behaviour, enrichment, and the reassurance and emotional support all pets need when their family is away.

I am also experienced and confident with:
Property security & maintenance
use of garden machinery
Dealing with tradespeople
Household organisation, care of fine furniture & antiques
Independent decision-making if issues arise
Airbnb/changeover cleaning
NB: Although I am happy to house sit on a voluntary basis, any guest house, holiday cottage or Airbnb-style management falls outside the scope of standard house sitting and would require agreed remuneration. This includes tasks such as guest changeovers, cleaning, laundry, bookings, guest communication, or preparing accommodation for incoming visitors. I have operated as an Airbnb superhost , am very experienced with this type of work and can provide it professionally where needed, but always with clear agreement in advance.

I am comfortable in both rural and city locations and prefer to take on remote properties, pets with additional needs, and homes requiring a high standard of care.

Although I generally house sit on my own, I occasionally travel with a close friend (if available) who has extensive professional experience with horses and equine care. She is highly capable with both animals and property management. If a sit would benefit from her additional support—particularly larger properties or multiple pets—I will always request your permission beforehand.

•Mature, calm, discreet, and respectful of privacy
•Non-smoker, clean and extremely organised
•Experienced with high-value homes and sensitive environments
•Capable, practical, and able to handle unexpected situations
•Kind, gentle and fully committed to pets’ happiness, comfort and wellbeing

Interests: Walking, cycling, gardening, driving, archery, target shooting, medieval history, industrial engineering, antiques, theatre, reading, and exploring beautiful landscapes with a dog by my side.
