We are an active (non smoking) retired couple living in the Rossendale valley in the northwest of England with more than 15 years experience in house and pet sitting. We really love countryside sits and love peace and quiet.
We love gardening and exploring the countryside, plus our daily game of Canasta.
We lived in France for a number of years until 2015, enjoying a lovely long holiday in one our favorite Countries.
We decided to move back to our roots in the Northwest to explore new interests in our native country. Our love for pet and house sitting means we can explore new places that perhaps we haven’t visited before.
At the moment we don’t have any pets of our own and have made that decision to give ourselves more freedom.
In the early years we sat for friends, who were returning to the UK to visit family. For a number of years we sat for a family keeping an eye on their teenage children, feeding them and their animals while their parents worked away.
In our teens and twenties one of our interests was horse riding, we spent most of our free time at the stables. We didn’t have horses of our own, but were members of a group that rode and schooled horses for owners. We no longer ride, as we have come to realise you don’t bounce quite as well when you get older.
Over the years we have had our own menagerie of animals, dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, (geese our favorite), guinea fowl and quail.
We do have experience with sheep , horses, donkeys and are open to gain experience with other animals. But please no snakes, spiders and mice.
