Hello!

My name is Scott and I am 38 years old, originally from Hampshire in the south of England. I am a former physicist, having worked for a space company building satellites. However, during that time I developed a keen interest in mindful practice and eastern philosophy. I began to attend Buddhist meditation and tai chi classes. Then, 3 years ago I decided to let go of my Science profession to explore my interests in mindful practices and off-grid sustainable living. I spent 6 months volunteering at a Yoga retreat in Somerset, where I maintained the gardens and became the handy man renovating and repairing various things. I then moved to Ireland and stayed with a small off-grid community for 9 months, where I built a hydro power system and installed solar power. I then moved and volunteered at a Buddhist retreat centre in Scotland for 18 months, where I took the role of lands manager, maintaining 50 acres of woodland, meadows, flower beds and vegetable plots.
This year I travelled to China for 4 months to learn and develop my Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice, guided by an authentic Tai Chi Master, in the hopes of one day becoming a teacher. Now that I've returned to the UK, I am now looking for somewhere quiet where I can tuck away for a while, to reintegrate and continue Tai Chi practice, and simply use the space as a wee meditation retreat.
As a practicing Buddhist I am a quiet, respectful and considerate individual who likes to take care and keep the spaces clean and tidy. I am more than happy to maintain any gardens etc and look after pets. I grew up with cats, fish and Guinea pigs, and I have looked after numerous dogs before from neighbours, friends and colleagues (mostly border collies!). I would love to have my own dog one day! I also used to have my own pet reptile (bearded dragon) so I have experience with reptiles as well.
