Vet in the house?

We’re Australian but with Michael’s British passport we can also live in the UK.

Michael had a veterinary practice in lovely Tasmania for most of his career. Kathi was a manager with the Australian Public Service. Pre covid we travelled widely, combining travel with veterinary locums (at least 40 in total). We particularly loved this as a way of seeing the UK, living as locals in a never-ending variety of places.

Helping out with two active young granddaughters has kept us fit in Australia over the past few years.

We discovered house-sitting through Mindahome Aus as the solution to needing accommodation in Melbourne while waiting for our own home to be ready. We’re now repeat sitters for this couple, helping out when we can.

House-sitting offers the perfect opportunity to continue seeing the UK as we did while Michael was practising (while also giving the vet his much-needed ‘fix’ of pet company).

And although Michael no longer practises, 40 years of experience means that pets are looked after with more than just a caring eye.
