We spend the summer months cruising on our yacht, we are currently based in Ipswich, Suffolk. We returned from South Brittany in September 2020, having spent the last 3 years. cruising in the Morbihan and surrounding areas of Brittany. Prior to this we spent 4 years cruising the east & west coast of the UK before heading for France in 2017.

Before taking to a life afloat, I worked in the Charity sector at management level and latterly providing technical communication support for a motor manufacturer. My husband retired in 2012 and his whole career was spent in Commercial Property Management. Having also personally renovated four properties, he is a very experienced DIY'er.

We are a kind, caring, happy couple who enjoy a lovely lifestyle and are financially independent. We have so much to offer in caring for your dog or cat, enthusiasm, passion for the outdoor life and the sheer fun that comes with looking after animals. Having both had dogs for most of our lives we are very experienced in feeding, walking and caring for four legged friends. My very first pet was an amazing cat called Billy Dexter, a proper top-cat.

We are 2 very independent, self reliant, clean and tidy professional people. We love walking a dog, stroking a cat, taking a picnic and making the most of the day, or curling up with a book, either suits us both just as much.

Between us we have a varied skill set and are well equipped to rely on our own skills and initiative. Living on a boat we have to be extremely self sufficient and for example manage our water and power consumption as well as keeping the boat in good working order. This involves both long and short term maintenance with the majority of the work undertaken by ourselves. We both take a lot of pride in keeping our boat shipshape and bring this level of commitment to every household we look after.

Nothing beats being with a dog. The sad loss of our own dog Banrock, a wee westie, left such a gap in our lives. But we felt unable to replace our little Seadog (we hope to one day) and decided to focus on pet sitting instead.

We always planned to do more house/pet sitting after doing some sits for family & friends and enjoying the whole experience. It is such a lovely way to make friends with a dog/cat in an environment they are happy in.

We see house sitting as a way of experiencing living in different areas. Meeting new people and having the chance to get to know a place, by getting to live like a local. Before we adopted our cruising lifestyle we often holidayed in self catering and often went to remote areas where we welcomed the opportunity to embrace the local community. We have spent many holidays in the wilds of Scotland and the Outer Hebrides. We are both fit, capable and enjoy a challenge.

The sits we have completed have provided us with wonderful experiences. We have all the time in the world to play, walk and care for a dog/cat and get so much enjoyment from spending time with them. We love to explore our doorstep and having a waggy tailed companion, makes it so much fun. Who can fail to be entertained by a dog with a sniff, who is so happy to be out on a walk.

Non smokers. We both hold full clean UK driving licences and have our own transport.
