About this house sitting position in Blackburn
We own a 3 bedroomed home in Blackburn where myself and my husband live with our two 3 year old beagles, Toby and Bailey, and cat Mabel. Toby and Bailey can be high energy at times but enjoy lazing around and sleeping, especially the weather is warm and there are sunny spots through the windows. They love to have a good run every day, we have a local park quite near us which is perfect for this and they love to have muddy adventures if you'd like to take them elsewhere. We have a dog walker usually who can be arranged to take them out during the day if you will be away for the day. Our house is located near a train stop that has direct trains to Preston, and Manchester is either one train change, or a direct train from Blackburns main train station. Although we don't live directly in the country there are many country walks and spots short drives away, and we only live around an hours drive from the Lake District and the Peak District. Toby and Bailey are fine with car journeys, they have seatbelts and normally sit in the back if you want to drive them anywhere. They really do love walking and have endless stamina and enthusiasm if you do enjoy adventure they could walk for the full day and only tire when back home, but they are also happy with a good run and play, and to laze around on the sofa. They can be stubborn and a little naughty at times, if you have any experience with beagles (this would be ideal) you will know how they are, they are full of personality, extremely funny and maybe a little spoilt. They do need someone to be stern with them at times and they love a routine. Toby doesn't like strange dogs and can now be aggressive if he feels threatened (he is actually ok with dogs smaller than him, its mostly big dogs) so we keep them away from other dogs now and put them on the lead near them. This may have improved by your stay as we think it is due to lockdown and is something we are working on. They are crate trained, which they sleep in at night and sometimes put in if they get over excited and can't calm themselves down. You probably won't see the cat, Mabel much as she doesn't tend to really like people (apart from myself). She likes to be fed and in summer she goes out at nighttime so she usually sleeps all day. Because she's normally out or sleeping she doesn't use her litter tray much at all but this will just need scooping if necessary. Read more...
