About this house sitting position in Freshwater

Hello, I have a 15 year old female Staff cross British Bull Terrier called Skype, very sweet but a little bit stubborn.
Loves treats.
She has some arthritis, which she has medicine for twice a day in food, but she still needs an hour of exercise each day and a short walk near the house in the evening.

Skype is sweet natured and likes meeting other dogs but care must be taken that they’re not too bouncy with her because her hips will suffer next day.
She does tend to be stubborn about walking if she’s not in her favourite places. Beaches are best for her and there’s several to choose from very locally.
If you don’t have a car or prefer not to bring it (and the ferry is expensive with a car) I can lend you my small van.

My house is a bright, sunny cottage near Freshwater Bay with fields and downs and beaches all within easy reach. There’s a small front garden with grass and seating and a courtyard back garden down the cellar steps.
I have an automatic watering system for the back garden and a few plants at the front that would need a bit of watering.

My road is a quiet lane and shops and cafes and the beach are all within easy walking distance.
If you prefer to come over without a car I can lend you my bicycle and there are frequent and cheap buses across the island. It’s a 2 minute cycle ride or 10 minute walk to the small town of Freshwater and a popular cycle path connects us to the lovely town of Yarmouth with its marina and the ferry and restaurants etc, along the tidal river Yar.
It’s a haven for all sorts of birds from herons to curlews and egrets and buzzards so if you’re a nature lover it’s a great place to stay.
This year I’m going away twice, Sept 2nd to 13th and again for about three weeks in October so it would be great if the same sitter could do both times, so Skype already knows you.
But that’s not essential.
If you have a dog of your own that would be ok as long as they’re not too energetic and they’re happy to let Skype sleep. Read more...
