About this house sitting position in Gargrave

Our home in in the village of Gargrave, near Skipton It is a four bedroomed detached house set in a small close which was built inside the walled garden of Gargrave House (now converted into flats). Gargrave itself is just outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park with easy access into the Dales, the walks and beautiful scenery.

We have some woodland at the rear of our house, entered via a gate through the walled garden. we have around 18 chickens (they have a habit of running around so it is difficult to count ) . l l will require daily feeding and watering as well as cleaning out when required . The woodland is walled and a very peaceful place to sit and enjoy the birdsong. In addition we also have the formal garden with pots ,baskets ect which would need watering when appropriate. There are also various seating areas with comfortable loungers as well as a large outdoor furniture seating and table area.

The house itself has central heating, a wood burner in the lounge and a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, two ovens and the usual appliances . We also have a conservatory with solid roof which has comfortable settees and TV

We have wifi which is generally reliable. We subscribe to Netflix and Amazon prime -though no Sky TV.

WE have an elderley Lhassa Apso -Maisie who is getting past doing long walks but does enjoy a trip down the nearby canal towpath. She loves her cuddles and fusses and her food (though we do try to keep her enthusiasm for food under some sort of scrutiny).

We do have cameras inside the house in the kitchen and hallway and outside the front door, the garden and the wood. These are present but are disconnected when we have house sitters. Read more...
