About this house sitting position in Heathfield
I am looking for a sitter for my small, but adorable menagerie. Happy to contribute towards travel costs and food. Our home is situated in a beautiful rural area with lovely walks in every direction. The location is a little remote so a car is a must. We are half a mile down a single track lane, surrounded by green fields and woodland. Heathfield High Street and shops are around a 20 minute walk but just five minutes by car.
We have a small menagerie of delightful pets, each one a character. In the house we have two dogs and two cats. At the bottom of the garden, we have two geese, three Guinea Fowl and 15 chickens so fresh eggs every day.
The Guineas are nutters, they make me laugh every day. The poultry are all easy pets and so entertaining. In fact, all the pets are entertaining and there is always one of them making me laugh. One of my cats is very playful and naughty and the other very chatty. There is never a dull moment here!

You will need to be quite committed to looking after the poultry but it is rewarding and once you get into the routine not difficult. We spent about two & half hours a day feeding, cleaning, checking, collecting eggs and putting them to bed. We chose to chop veg and other bits and pieces for them just to watch them chase about but peas and spaghetti (no sauce) seemed to be their favourite. Orange skin was left but banana skin was eaten before the end of day.
The cats just needed feeding, some play time and cuddles.
The house was easy to look after, comfortable and well equipped.
