About this house sitting position in Inverurie. Aberdeenshire

Hi, We have a nice 3 bedroom detached bungalow in the village of Daviot in Aberdeenshire. We have 1 cat and 2 dogs. We are going away from the 12th Oct to the 16th Oct 2019.

We are looking for someone who is a non smoker, relaxed, honest and conscientious and who can arrive at least a day early to get settled. We are happy for you to stay on for a day or two after we arrive back if it helps with your plans.

Our house is comfortable, tidy and clean but we are in the middle of redecorating. We have oiled fired central heating and a mains fed hot water tank. The front room has a wood burning stove. There's a dining room and a cosy reading roo.. The bathroom has a heated floor, spa bath and large shower (water pressure is great!)

Ours is a pleasant, fairly modern kitchen. We have an Induction hob which is easy and very efficient. There is a separate, double, eye level oven, a dishwasher and coffee machine but we also have cafetiers if you prefer. Theres a large tilly room with washing machine and a externally vented tumble drier, pantry and larder. There is a chip ID cat flap into the tilly room so Socks can come and go as he pleases. Though I'd advise that during the night, he only has run through to the front room, otherwise he will wake you in the early hours.

We have medium sized gardens (mostly lawned) in the front (either side of our drive) and out the back.

As we live in a quiet village (there's a pub, junior school, church and village hall) we have good circular walks available, with fields, paths and tracks with only short sections of rural roads.

Our girls are goldendoodles. Zelah is nearly 11 and Maya is 6. They are well trained and have good recall. They run off the lead when in fields/on tracks but I always put them on a lead to walk on roads or through the village. They need 2 good walks a day and do not shy away from walking in bad weather. They like lots of love and cuddles.

Our cat, Socks, is originally of farming stock and always slept in our stables until we moved into the village. He tends to be out and about most of the time but comes and goes using a chipped cat flap. He loves sitting on your lap but you might need an old blanket to protect your knees from his spikey kneading! He is very lucky and has a fillet of fish cooked every day, along with some biscuits and a sachet.

We are about 4 miles from the town of Inverurie (Tesco, Morrisons, pets at Home, Homebase etc) and there is a bus service to and fro a few times a day. We are about 20 miles north of the city of Aberdeen. Theres a very regular train service to Aberdeen from Inverurie and a park and ride if you drive in. Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda deliver to the village.

If you can drive, there are wonderful places to go to walk or hike. The closest of which is Bennachie. You don't have to walk to the summit as there are fire tracks a plenty for enjoying a more relaxing (level) walk. That said, a hike to the top give you beautiful and far reaching views and is certainly worth the energy.

Aviemore, Ballater and Braemar are about one and a half hours away through some lovely countryside.

Our neighbours are lovely, as is the whole village. There will always be someone to help if you need. If you need us however, we are always happy for you to contact us whenever you have a question - we are all on WhatsApp. It is important that you and Socks are settled and happy.

We would also like references please. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

All the best,

Jude & Graeme
