About this house sitting position in Port William

We are a young Hungarian couple living in Port William, owning a 1 year old wonderful, clever, very playful border collie. 😊

As our relatives, including our grandparents live in Hungary, we would like to spend some quality time with them until we still have the chance.
We are planning a 1-week visit in the beginning of April. We would love to have someone (one person or a couple is very welcome) looking after our Aslan, walking him regularly, feeding him and spending a lot of playtime together.

However, it is very important to know that despite the continuous training, Aslan became reactive to people, dogs and cars. This means that for now he barks hard in case of meeting people on the streets and tries to chase the cars passing by. He is not confident enough arround other people, especially when they are close to his safe space and we are not sure if this behavior will be any better by April. We bring him to a dog school regularly and train him as much as we can day by day to show him that he is safe even if he is surrounded by others and things happening in the world is totally normal and there is no need to be afraid, but there is no guarantee that his reactivity will be better until we have to travel abroad.

Taking into consideration this important information about him, it would be amazing if we could find someone who has a wee experience with reactive dogs and also will be able to come a few days earlier so we will have the chance to slowly introduce him/her to Aslan. (This is already included in the mentioned date.) If the sitter is living close to our place, meeting now and then before the actual departure date will be even more amazing so we can spend some time together.

We understand his reactivity could sound hard to handle, but in places he is not surrounded by any triggers, he behaves amazingly well, and he truly is a sweetheart with the people who trusts. In this one week the sitter does not have to do any training with him, just give him a lot of love and playtime. Right next to our house there is a long beach for walks, and just for a 10 minutes walk there is a big park that is totally empty most of the time so he can play off leash safely. The Galloway Forest Park is approachable very easily by car (half an hour drive) so you can take Aslan even on shorter hikes and walks in the Galloway.

No other duties are included, except for watering our little indoor plants daily.
Our cottage is located by the sea, and can be used entirely. We prepare a lovely little guestroom for our house sitter(s). We also prepare some delicious dishes for the sitter's arrival and leave a lot of food so there will be no need to go to the groceries often. 😊 In our opinion, this would be a great opportunity for someone who loves spending time in a quite, peaceful area, while having a cheerful puppy company.

Do not hesitate to ask your questions if you have, we are happy to answer all of them. 😊
