More information about this house sitter

Currently looking for a 1-2 week houseit in Bedfordshire / Northants / South Leicestershire / West Cambridgeshire / Rutland - between end of March & 19th April. Get in touch if you need someone!

I’m British, originally from Surrey but have lived all over the England, and for the last 22 years have lived in the Netherlands with my Dutch husband and two teenage sons. I am also an author, and need time away from my family to be able to focus on my writing projects. I thought housesitting would be a good opportunity to create my own little ‘writing retreat’, while also spending time in my native country.

I have had cats all my life and currently have two of my own, Eddie and Suzy. I am called ‘the cat woman’ by my neighbours, because I used to volunteer in a cat shelter and always help take care of any stray cats, whether that’s feeding them or helping them get rehomed. I have also looked after Guinea Pigs (pregnant ones while a friend was away on holiday - and they gave birth!), and also my mother-in-laws caged Lovebird.

I have house sat before for friends in Central London (Clapham) while they were on holiday, looking after their home and cat. I am also an avid gardener and am happy to mow the lawn, do a bit of weeding or watering as required. I have my own greenhouse and know how important it is to care for any plants or seedlings.
