Hi home owner, we are a couple who’ve been together for over 30 years and married for 19. Keith was a Senior Fire Officer for 30 years and Adrienne (aka AJ) has recently taken early retirement as an NHS Director. We are both non-smokers.

We’re fairly new to the idea of home sitting - AJ was browsing ways to get away, other than the usual vrbo stay, whilst looking after someone’s pride and joy.

We are very well travelled and enjoy the outdoors. Having owned a holiday home in the mountains of Austria, which friends and family often visited independently, we are well versed in the importance of looking after properties for ourself and others.

We have two very well behaved male Cairn Terriers, Sam & Finn, who have stayed in Hotels and Rental Airbnb’s so we have no qualms about taking them on a staycation/house sit. Pet care is obviously well within our capabilities and most welcomed, particularly the hoofed types or something different. Anywhere with land or a large plot is attractive to us as we both enjoy walking.

Keith is a keen DIY’er with AJ as his ‘right hand Woman’ to assist in all things practical and give the problem solving angle when things get sticky, and we have moved a number of times to ‘scratch that itch’ of having tasks to do.

Keiths experience as a Fire Officer means that he’s not phased by much and the ability to problem solve and use his initiative is inherent in that career. Adrienne has had a long career in the NHS and her skill set is project management and problem solving hence the support role on the diy tasks. We are both keen gardeners and have a beautiful 120’ deep x 60’ wide plot full of bulbs, shrubs and herbaceous plants. Keith’s favourite plant is anything colourful whilst AJ’s are small fritillaries and alchemilla mollis. A little gardening whilst we’re home sitting is therefore obviously not a problem.
