Hello, I am Elaine, an experienced house/pet sitter & animal lover from Spain, originally from London. I have lived in Cadiz, for 14 years. I am a Private Nurse, Freelance Writer & English Language Teacher online. I love peace and quiet time, Pilates, fitness, the outdoors/nature, cooking, travelling and discovering new things about myself and others whilst indulging in all these!

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE I BRING
I have cared for my own & others dogs, cats ( a turtle also!) and have had pet sitters in my own home so I understand the needs of a pet owner especially to feel confident and at peace that their beloved pets are given the proper attention they need and their homes are well cared for whilst they are away. I have been pet-sitting for over 8 years staying in apartments and estates in Europe, UK & Australia looking after some special pets and meeting wonderful owners along the way. As well as pet care I have tended gardens, pools, guest houses, and the general upkeep of the home & plants. Even though I pet sit alone, I am confident, organised and capable to put my hand to any situation or need that arises, including deliveries, messages, light work/repairs, animal medications etc. I work from home therefore I am on hand to keep your animals company and to ensure your house is secure. I have a clean driving licence, full DBS Police check and speak Spanish also. Being a reliable & organised person, this ensures your pet/house care is carried out as you wish and your home and your beloved pets are in safe and caring hands for your return.

WHY I WANT TO HOUSE-SIT
Working as a freelance writer I use new life experiences and synchronicities as creative “meat” for my work! I embraced a new part of my life when my daughter left for University in the UK 8 years ago, having raised her in Spain for 7 years, and the last of my beloved pets passed away. House and pet sitting indulges my love of independence & travel and puts to use my caring and loving nature. Preferring to stay in a home rather than a hotel it gives me the opportunity to integrate fully with the locals and the environment I am in whilst travelling to different locations. I enjoy new people, experiences and especially animals for company. Pet sitting makes me feel useful and connected, satisfying my love of variety and healthy change. The worst part of pet sitting is having to say goodbye to the owners and special bonds I have made with their animals – but they are all wonderful memories that I carry with me. Read more...
